We love to travel and it is definitely one of the things that bond us. In our 5 years together, we have hit 22 countries together and hope for dozens more in the years to come. Since travel is so huge for us, we knew we wanted to go somewhere off the beaten path for our honeymoon-- but still someplace beautiful and romantic. We had been saving up airmiles for years and had a half million of them so really the sky was the limit!
We narrowed it down the South Pacific somewhere, and then realized that Palau fit the bill and also happened to be the location of one of the items on our Bucket List-- the Jelly Fish Lake!
The Honeymoon Destination
We spent 14 days in Micronesia on the islands of Palau. This remote beauty is half way between Australia and Japan, smack dab in the middle of nowhere! We knew we wanted to go somewhere tropical and secluded and it doesn't get any better than this! It was a very long trip; we took 4 flights over and 3 flights back. Fortunately, because we had so many air miles, we didn't have to pay for airfare and could afford to upgrade to first class the whole way. For $32 and a whole lot of miles we scored 14 first-class tickets-- yay!
Ongeim'l Tketau (Jellyfish Lake)
There are over 10 million jellyfish cut off from the ocean for thousands of years, so they have lost their sting. They are so gentle and beautiful, this felt like a dream!
